Antique Irish mahogany sofa table with rosewood crossbanding. Estimated to be 1820s.
An unusual Irish sofa table has a solid mahogany top decorated with rosewood cross banding above two drawers to the front and false drawer fronts to the back. All with turned mahogany drawer knobs and rosewood cross banding. These are raised on two elegant columns supported on a mahogany veneered platform, which in turn is supported on 4 elegant sweeping legs terminating in original brass castors.
This sofa table has been expertly restored. Overall it is in excellent condition with some age-appropriate wear, including some slight marks to the tops and inside of drawers (please see photographs for details).
