Polly specialises in residential interior design and has recently renovated her West London home. She describes her interiors style and why she enjoys adding vintage pieces to her schemes.
How would you describe your interiors style?
A classic mix of contemporary and traditional. My interiors are quintessentially British in many ways, but I enjoy throwing in some mid-century pieces and contemporary art to add some interest. I love to layer fabrics, textures, colours, furniture and other bits and bobs.
How do you use vintage in your projects?
I love using modern pieces with antique finds. Don't be scared of putting something contemporary next to a traditional piece. Vintage pieces add warmth and character to an interior scheme and I find that the items that gain the most interest from guests.
What do you love most about sourcing vintage?
You never know what you are going to get, sometimes you see something and it's just too good to miss out on and you have to go for it. It's also lovely to know that you are preserving vintage pieces and giving them a new home and lease of life. So many of the high street products aren't built to last.
What does home mean to you?
Everything. I'm a real home bird and love relaxing in the evening or filling our house with friends and family. I want everyone that steps into our home to feel welcome and relaxed, and I hope that comes out in the interiors that I produce. No one wants a show home.
