Together interior designers Georgina and Lisa lead Studio 73 Design. They explain the importance of creating a harmonious home that resonates with its inhabitants.
How would you describe your interiors style?
Describing our interiors style is a tricky one to answer. We are very client-led, so work with our clients to create spaces that are personal to them. Our aim is to design warm, colourful and curated interiors that resonate with our client’s personality and lifestyle.
How do you use antiques in your projects?
We love using antiques in our projects. They are often unique pieces that tell a story or have huge sentimental value to a client. So many antiques also have a timeless quality about them and as a result, can work really well when used alongside more contemporary pieces in a scheme.
What do you love most about sourcing antiques?
You never know what treasures you are going to come across. A single antique can often bring the whole scheme together, giving depth and history to a room. If you see an antique that you like – and can afford – buy it! Once it has gone, it has gone. If you buy it and love it, you will always find somewhere for it.
What does home mean to you?
Home should be your haven away from the busy world. It should be full of the colours, patterns and objects that you love and that lift you. It should also serve as a space to enjoy all your favourite things in life, with areas created to promote social and family time and quiet moments with a book and a glass of wine.
